What Can I Do?

 
 

1. Send Planning Objection and Call In Letters

Go to the objection letter page and follow the instructions to send an objection to the planning objection and to request that the Secretary of State intervenes in the decision, taking it out of the County Council's hands. 

The more people that do it the more impact it will have.

2. Donate

 

Any amount you can donate will contribute towards GlosVAIN's attempt to stop the incinerator. It's quick and easy. You CAN make a difference.

We will need to buy in assistance from a number of experts as we oppose the Council's plans. Unfortunately this doesn't come cheaply and so having sufficient funds is absolutely crucial if we are to stand the best chance of overturning the proposal.

As a grass roots campaign group we have very limited funds available to us. Whereas, however, we are up against the County Council and Urbaser Balfour Beatty - large organisations with huge amounts of resource at their disposal. You can help us level the playing field by donating what you can. Perhaps £10, £50 or £100 - perhaps less...it doesn't matter, it all helps.

GlosVAIN members are all concerned, unpaid, volunteer members of the public like you. Donations received go directly to assisting with the campaign.

3. Write a letter

Write a letter or email opposing incineration (letters are thought to be very effective)

D. Contact/write to the local press and radio 

4. Join in at a demonstration

Look out on our News pages, Twitter and Facebook for details of upcoming DEMOs, where you can:
 
  • Make your voice heard
  • Demonstrate the weight of opposition to the Council
  • Help attract press attention and raise the profile of the issue locally and nationally

5. Sign the Incinerator Tax e-petition

Really quick. Sign it here....then pass on the link to as many people as possible.
 
Should the petition obtain 100,000 signatures there will be a debate in Parliament on whether a tax should be applied to incineration. A tax would make incineration less attractive and help stop it undermining efforts to recycle.
 

6. Help GlosVAIN oppose the Javelin Park incinerator
