Breaking - Plans announced for alternative waste facility at Javelin Park site

PLANS have been announced to build a recycling facility at Javelin Park – adjacent to the planned UBB incinerator. This could seriously threaten the the incinerator proposal.

Advanced Recycling Technologies Gloucestershire Ltd (ART GL) hopes to build a Mechanical and Biological Heat Treatment (MBHT) plant at the site in Haresfield which will be operational by 2015. The plant will be built to fit within existing planning restrictions – including a height limit of 15 metres – and has a build cost of £20 million. According to ART GL the facility will eventually have the capacity to process all of Gloucestershire’s waste.
