Day 9 - 11th December 2013

Post date: Dec 12, 2013 10:07:12 PM

Mr Wyatt resumed in the witness box for Stroud DC only for UBB’s QC, Richard Phillips to rip into him for failing to provide the independent evidence promised in his pre examination statement. It would seem that the information had not been assembled in time and the promised information could not be provided. After this setback Mr Wyatt stood his ground over the question of CHP and the reasons why he thought it would be hard for UBB to find a user of the heat provided by the proposed Incinerator which made it much less efficient. Indeed he finished his morning stint with a flourish.

After the break Sue Oppenheimer took the stand for GlosVAIN and related the history of the whole sorry story of how GCC ended up promoting the ill conceived Incinerator. She gave a solid creditable performance and came across well. Because it related to the history of GCC she was spared any intense cross examination from UBB and we can all say ‘Well done Sue’.

Last witness for the day was Juliet Bailey who is representing GlosVAIN for landscape and she just had time to go through her evidence before close of play for the day. Tomorrow she will face cross examination from UBB!

A day which left the GlosVAIN supporters who attended feeling that their case had been well and fairly presented so far!
