Decisive Council
Incinerator Vote

Wed 18th Feb is Incinerator D-Day

A reminder to all that Wed, 18th Feb is our BEST chance to stop the incinerator. We need HUGE numbers of people to come to Shire Hall on 18th Feb ("TRASH Wednesday"..).

The County Council is holding an Extraordinary Meeting, where councillors will vote on scrapping the incinerator contract with UBB. They need to hear our rejection of this incinerator loud and clear!

What Do I Need to Do on 18th Feb?

1) Come and take part in the DEMO - starts 9:20 a.m.- outside Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester.....
** Make a Huge noise outside Shire Hall!  **
2) 10:00 - 12:00 - Go into Shire Hall for "Extraordinary Meeting".
Councillors will debate scrapping of contract, GlosVAIN will present its petition, councillors will vote.....
** Be there in huge numbers to witness how our elected councillors vote **
Bring your banners, placards, loud voices, and kids, and help make a big impact.
Make Sure Your Councillor
Votes to Scrap Contract

The vote will be on a knife edge. Everyone please needs to contact their county councillor and ask them to vote to scrap the contract. Pressure from each of us individually will all add up.

Important Action
  • Contact your councillors before 18th Feb in one or more of these ways: Email, phone, Twitter. PLEASE BE POLITE!
  • Contact details here. Detailed guidance here.
  • We suggest you make it clear that the way they vote will have a lasting impact on the reputation of their party... Don't delay! Please contact asap!
  • As well as your own councillor, we ask that you contact as many others as possible also, particularly via Twitter if you use it.
Key Targets
We expect the Tory councillors to vote in favour of the incinerator. Hence, the deciding votes could well come from the UKIP and Independent councillors.

Here are their contact details. We'd ask as many people as possible to contact them. PLEASE BE POLITE & DO NOT HARANGUE THEM!

Other Actions

The following actions remain important for the campaign:

Help ensure we have enough funds to keep going with the campaign. Funds are low and we need to cover initial legal costs relating to potential Judicial Review and other campaign costs.

Any amount you can give, large or small is greatly appreciated and all helps. Thanks!

See you
at the DEMO!
