We have not yet won!The fight against theJavelin Park Incinerator goes on

A 5-week long Public Inquiry into the Javelin Park Incinerator application has been agreed and will start on 19th November. An Inspector has been appointed to hear the case. We now urgently need your support again.

You can be part of the Inquiry and help make sure that this application is thrown out for good by taking the following actions:

1. SEND IN A SUBMISSION/REPRESENTATION - by 3rd Sep

Please write again saying why you object to this Incinerator by 3rd September to:

Helen Skinner, Case Officer (Quoting ref.: APP/T1600/A/13/2200210)

email: Helen.skinner@pins.gsi.gov.uk OR

send to: The Planning Inspectorate, Room 3/02, Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN

Your original planning objection will be forwarded to the Inspector, but this is your chance to add more views about why this incinerator should be stopped.

Please copy us in on your written representation/submission by emailing pr@glosvain.info. You can also contact us by email if you would like help with your submission.

2. SPEAK AS A MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC AT THE INQUIRY

There will be a special Public Session when members of the public can speak at the Inquiry. We hope that as many of you as possible will chose to do this. Please write to Helen Skinner (contact info above) to register your interest, and please let us know too at pr@glosvain.info.

While there is no deadline for this, it would be helpful if you can do it as soon as possible.

If you are unable to attend in the day time, NOTIFY THE CASE OFFICER THAT YOU WOULD LIKE AN EVENING INQUIRY, if sufficient residents request this, one (or more) is usually arranged.

3. HELP US INFORM THE PUBLIC

Can you help deliver or hand out leaflets in your area? Do you have any ideas on how to raise public awareness about the incinerator and the Public Inquiry?

If yes, do please email: Diana.Shirley@virgin.net (or tel. 01452 810979)

4. Finally: MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!

Glosvain needs to raise at least £25,000.00 to cover Inquiry costs for their Advocate and witness etc. The good news is that we have already received over £7,000 in the last couple of weeks so we're over a quarter of the way there! Please help the campaign and make a donation:

  • By Paypal via the button on our home page OR
  • By Bank Transfer to Gloucestershire Vale Against Incineration: A/c:41283111, Sort Code: 40-43-42, OR
  • By Cheque made payable to "Gloucestershire Vale Against Incineration". Please send to: FAO Graham Smith, Quedgeley Parish Council, 9C The Old School House, School Lane, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 4PJ.

Many, many thanks to all the supporters who have already sent donations.
