Breaking News - Planning Application Submitted

The planning application for the Javelin Park incinerator has been submitted by Urbaser Balfour Beatty to Gloucestershire County Council. It will appear on the council's website shortly.

This is an absolutely key event and commences the next and most important phase of our opposition to the plans to date. A huge amount of work starts now. We will scrutinise the application, which will contain large amounts of detail not previously available. By doing this and enlisting expert assistance we will formulate a comprehensive objection to the application.

The application itself must be considered objectively on planning grounds by the Waste Planning Authority (a different part of the council to that running the incinerator project). It is expected that the decision will be made on the application around the middle of the year.

The stakes are raised now and it is vital that people's opposition to the plans builds momentum to the fullest extent possible. We will be posting updates frequently over the coming period. Please check back regularly.
